first of all i would like to thank faparith for seting up the svn, telling me how to use it and giving me permission to make a tutorial.

an svn is basically a folder shared between a group of people. so instead of uploading each file to a host. megaupload etc. we can just add it in just a few clicks

step one:
download and install tortoise svn client from
HERE!
then restart your computer

step two: (wb from restarting your computer)
create a folder anywhere on your computer. in this tutorial i will use "C:\SVN\"

step three:
right click that folder and left click on "SVN Checkout"
once done, a window will pop up asking you for a "URL of repositry" fill that box with the following (without quotations)
"https://opensvn.csie.org/QNL_GER/"
hit OK
it should now ask you some stuff depending on your security settings... just allow it all
it wil also ask you for a username and password. please pm faparaith the username and password you would like to use.
once all that is done you have successfully link your client with the svn

step four:
to add a file or folder simply put it in the location you want it in,provided its in your linked folder, we used "C:\SVN\" so we would have to put the file/folder in "C:\SVN\QNL_GER\" anywhere in there is fine
once they are in right click the file and hover over "tortoiseSVN" then click "add"
then right click the file again and click "commit"

step five:
to retreiv files that others have uploaded you will need to update the folder
"C:\SVN\QNL_GER\" often to do this simply right click the folder named "QNL_GER" and click on update.

I have an idea for the svn, we shuld add the COMPLETELY finished models into a folder called simply "Models", and by me saying completely, I mean they are already in .mdl format and all you have to do is copy and paste into your kurok .pak file. Anyone like??

wait can you tell me the order of what happens after the model is made eg. texture then animated cus i will make files and a .txt with files so once a model is done it moves to the next folder so so it can be fineshed.

Its modeled (and optismised, then its uv unwarped, textured, animated, then converted to .mdl format, then coded and added to the game.

ThaJoker: Thats why i have the build folder there all the finished and up to date game ready stuff goes in there. Smile

oohhh sorry faparith, didnt know exactly what that was there for, but ya cleared it up for me.... oh and im sorry that I havnt made anything new, its just that Ive been getting bombed with homework, and its only the second week back to school!!

lol, i go back next week *gulp* i hardly do homework unless its important lol

its all there and done now just check out the models folder (once youve updated)

well i always upload a kurok folder that i add the models into once they can be tested. Then the team members just have to run it

Oh, and sorry to bring this up, but I have no clue how to UV map..=/ does anyone know how to?? maybe you could teach me??

Uv maping is quite an important and tricky task and can be differnt depning on what modeling program you use.

But the princables of Uv Unwarping is to take the faces of a model and lay them out on to a 2d image. Thos 2D image is then used as the base for the weapons texture to be made from.
